Handbrake presets not updating

Hand Brake 1.0.0 brings tons of new presets and support for more devices and file types.

From a report: Hand Brake 1.0.0 comes with new web and MKV presets.

It is a versatile, easy-to-use tool for converting DVDs and other videos into H.264, MPEG-4, or OGG formatted media.

It's particularly useful for making videos that are compatible with portable video devices such as the Apple i Pod/i Phone.

The time to encode a movie should be irrelevant – sometimes the time difference is really not worth it, for a few minutes extra you will get a better quality and/or smaller file size.

The times that encoding a movie from DVD took 8 hours are long gone, most of my computers can convert a DVD easily under 15 minutes.

Built-in Device Presets: Get started with Hand Brake in seconds by choosing a profile optimized for your device, or choose a universal profile for standard or high quality conversions. For those that want more choice, tweak many basic and advanced options to improve your encodes.

The following changes have been made: v1.01 Added support for file types other than avi/m4v in/out which was the only types supported by the original.

I'm trying to convert a large video collection to MP4.

I have my Mac converting everything with Handbrake and figured I would speed up the process using my Windows backup.

It should be able to convert multiple video types from a source folder and save them to a destination folder as a single output file type.

This Program was adapted from an original project downloaded from codeplex by the name of "Handbrake Batch Encoder" ( and authored by the username "buzzby".
